Torrey Baseball alum A.J. Dhus '17 and his Wheaton College baseball teammates recently had the opportunity to travel to Colombia for a service trip. Here is how A.J. described the trip:
This January, the Wheaton College (IL) baseball team and I had the incredible opportunity of going to Bogotá, Colombia and Fusagasugá, Colombia to share the gospel through the common language of baseball. This was extra special for me, because as a Spanish and Elementary Education major here at Wheaton, I was able to connect with the Colombian and Venezuelan kids uniquely. Using the common love for baseball, the language barrier was broken and the experience felt not like "the baseball players from the United States are helping Colombian and Venezuelan people" but that we were just a bunch of people hanging out and talking about Jesus. For me, being able to speak Spanish made the connections with the local players and other new friends we made that much more special.
It's always inspirational to hear about Torrey Baseball alums doing great work in college and beyond.

A.J. and his Wheaton teammates begin their baseball season tomorrow (2/28).
