The LJCDS Cross Country Team battled hot, humid conditions in Bonita on Friday (9/8) but were still able to post some fast times and earn some medals.
Alyssa Vo ‘24 finished the 2.5-mile course in 17:55 good for a very impressive 5th place out of 88 racers. Laila Mirkazemi ’24 came in 27th with a time of 19:31 and Jojo Criado ’25 finished 30th with a time of 19:34. All three racers earned varsity medals.
In the JV girls’ race, Sandi Juarez ’27 came in 30th out of 85 racers. She finished the 2-mile course in 17:30 to earn a medal.
In the varsity boys’ race, Aaron Guss ’26 ran the 3.1-mile course in 18:59 (6:07 mile pace) to finish 29th out of 101 racers and earn a medal.
The Torreys will be back at it on Saturday (9/16) at the Mt. Carmel Invitational.
