Dear Loyal Torrey Football Fans,
The boys earned another week of football and have advanced to the D4 Semi-Finals!! In an exciting and hard fought game against big school Montgomery (9-2), the Torreys (9-3) played one of their best games of the season on the way to defeating the Aztecs 48-29. For the second straight week, the Torreys jumped out to a quick 28-0 lead at the beginning of the 2nd quarter and never looked back. The defense forced 4 turnovers, including a fumble on Montgomery’s first possession and the offense once again gained over 500 yards of total offense.
EJ Kreutzmann ’20 broke Braxton Burmeister’s CIF single season passing yards record last night after throwing for over 400 yards again (and 6 TDs). He now has over 4,600 passing yards and 52 passing TDs on the season (he’s just four completions and 4 TDs off of Braxton’s completion/TD single season records). Additionally, Nick Albert ‘20 caught 5 passes for 130 yards and 2 TDs, Daniel Rosenberg ‘21 was 6-159 with 3 TDs receiving, and Brandon Kim ’20 was 7-98 with a TD (and he became our third receiver to gain over 1,000 yards receiving this season). Our defense forced 4 turnovers – Sam Alligood ’22, Brandon Kim ’20, Daniel Rosenberg ’21 each recovered a fumble and JC Gustin ’22 intercepted a pass. Zach Alligood ’20 had a ridiculous 31 tackles and now has over 200 tackles on the season (I have no idea what the record for tackles in a season is, but I imagine there are few players who have made over 200 tackles in a season). It’s been a special season and we’re excited to keep the magic going for another week!

Next Friday night, we head to Tierrasanta to take on #2 seed Serra High School (9-2). Let’s get a huge crowd out there to support the boys!!
Go Torreys!
