Dear Loyal Torrey Football Fans,
The 2019 Torrey Football season continues! Your Torreys (8-3) played inspired football last night and won their first round playoff game against Tri-City Christian (5-6), 66-38. After jumping out to a quick 18-0 in the first 6 minutes of the game, the boys never looked back. The offense was unstoppable, finishing with 428 yards passing and 153 yards rushing. Senior QB EJ Kreutzmann became only the 3rd passer in San Diego history to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season (behind only our very own Braxton Burmeister). Senior captain Nick Albert scored 5 TDs, and finished with 213 yards receiving and 90 yards rushing (including a 95 yard touchdown catch). Senior Brandon Kim also hauled in 3 TD catches and over 100 yards. Defensively, senior Zach Alligood broke the Torreys single season record for tackles in a season and his brother Sam ’22 recovered a key fumble in the first quarter to help the Torreys break the game open early.

We now head down south to take on #3 seeded Montgomery (9-1) which should be a tough quarterfinal game against a big school with a talented QB and RB at 7:00 on Friday night. It was great seeing some alums last night and we’d love to see more on Friday!
Go Torreys!
