Dear Loyal Torrey Football Fans,
In addition to our Quarterfinals playoff game on Friday night at Montgomery HS, we’ve got some exciting news to share!
Senior QB, EJ Kreutmann (who officially signed to play baseball at Columbia today), has been nominated as the PPR Offensive Player of the Year! EJ has had a record breaking season and is working on breaking some of Braxton Burmeister’s single season records while also being one of the nation’s leading passers. He has completed 70% of his passes for 4,258 yards and 46 TDs while also rushing for 444 yards and 11 TDs. Be sure to VOTE for EJ HERE: https://www.kusi.com/2019-prep-pigskin-report-voting-page/
In other news, our annual Torrey Football Alumni Flag Football game is fast approaching on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 10 a.m, so be sure to register for the game here: http://bit.ly/ljcdsalumnifootball2019. We’ve already got some superstar commits, and we can’t wait to get more of you signed up for the big game! We also hope to see some alumni parents out there to cheer on their Torreys!
Lastly, Petco Park and the Hall of Champions hosted another incredible signing day this morning, with well over 200 San Diego high school seniors officially signing their National Letters of Intent to pursue college athletics. I am proud to share that 3 of our 8 Torreys at the event were football players. LB/OL Zach Alligood (who leads the STATE and broke the Torreys single season record for tackles) committed to Johns Hopkins University (like Torrey Football alums Derek Hatfield ‘10 and Ian Han ’10); RB/LB Nick Albert committed to Washington University in St. Louis (following former Captain and RB Cole Goldklang ’14); QB EJ Kreutzmann committed to Columbia University for baseball (and will join alums Casey Mariucci ’17 and Drew Schmid ’17). See the attached photos.
Definitely another great day to be a Torrey!
Go Torreys!
